New Space – Matter Of Time

Dec 27 2018

HHO: Introduce yourself to the fans

New Space: My name is New Space, CEO of New Space Records and I have been making music for six years going on seven. Music is my strongest passion, it runs through my blood. My grandfather, Jr. Walker, is an old Motown legend. He inspired me to take this journey in finding myself as an artist.

HHO: How did your artist name come about?

New Space: I was always different growing up in middle school and high school, I never followed what was trending.I chose my name New Space because I felt I was different from the norm and never cared what others thought. I’m always in an evolving headspace, thus creating the name New Space. I’m also a very versatile artist when it comes to my sound. I could put out a trap album then turn around and hit you with a r&b album or an old school album all the way to house and Edm.

HHO: Where are you from?

New Space: I was born on Saturn but I was raised in Santa Barbara, California.

HHO: Who were your musical influences growing up?

New Space: My musical influences growing up were Lil Wayne, Kid Cudi,Tupac, and Jr. Walker. I have always admired how Lil Wayne creates metaphors that make me think about the deeper meanings of his lyrics. When it comes to Kid Cudi and Tupac, I love how real they are through their messages. I also was inspired by my grandpa Jr. Walker because he could go from playing the saxophone right into singing his versue.

HHO: What hip-hop albums did you grow up listening to?

New Space: To name a few, I grew up listening to albums such as Man on the Moon, Sorry for the Wait, and Makaveli.

HHO: What is the current single/project that you are promoting? How did the record come about?

New Space: My newest single “Matter of Time” produced by Young Ak is out now on all streaming platforms along with the music video on Worldstar Hip Hop. I made the song in the morning after waking up from a dream about me touring the the world. It felt like it was just a matter of time before I reached my dreams. I also dropped a six track Ep on October 11th, called “Strange Space” produced by Strange Figures. It is out now on all streaming platforms. Strange and I have been working together for a year and a half and have made countless hit records.

HHO: What would be your dream collaboration with any rapper or producer?

New Space: I think my dream collaboration would be with Kid Cudi or Tory Lanez.

HHO: Are you currently touring or have any upcoming shows?

New Space: As of right now I’m looking for a booking manager and I’m not on a tour but plan to be on one soon.

HHO: How is the response from your fans & djs been?

New Space: When it comes to the response of my new single and Ep I couldn’t be more happy. The response has been amazing and I have been getting a lot of Instagram Dms from new fans and Djs showing unconditional love.

HHO: What artists do you listen to the most?

New Space: Lately I’ve been bumping Tory Lanez, PNB rock, 03 Greedo, Future and Juice World.

HHO: What are your plans for 2018? What are you doing that others are not?

New Space: My plans for 2018 is to drop another project and music video. When it comes to 2019 a few people that I really strive to work with are Tory Lanez, PNB rock, Metro boomin and Swizz Beatz. What I’m doing that other artist are not is promoting shows and starting my own clothing line. I would say I’m more passionate about being an artist but I’m also a overall businessman in different fields other than the music industry such as real estate, acting and modeling.
