HHO: Introduce yourself to the fans

Mac Nova: Mac Nova, Motor City born and raised. Started my career from in “The Muc” Toledo, Ohio.

HHO: How did your artist name come about?

Mac Nova: The first part of my name Mac is just a play on my last name. Nova stands for N.ever O.verlook the V.alue of A.rtistry. I’ve been an artist for almost 10 years so its crazy to see the name Nova everywhere now.

HHO: Where are you from?

Mac Nova: Detroit Michigan. Westside and Northend mostly

HHO: Who were your musical influences growing up?

Mac Nova: I wasn’t allowed to listen to hip hop/rap till about middle school. So my earliest influences where the rappers that slipped thru the cracks on my moms playlist like Heavy D, LL Cool J, and the Fugees. Once I got on my musical freedom I was heavy Eminem, No Limit and Roc A Fella.

HHO: What hip-hop albums did you grow up listening to?

Mac Nova: My first album was Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. I was private schooled and steered away from hip hop. Fugees, The Score was the first album that made me fall in love with music and Biggies Ready to Die set me on course to be a hip hop music lover for life.

HHO: What is the current single/project that you are promoting?

Mac Nova: Dirty Hands. My new single released thru AMG/Sony. This one is dedicated to the blue collar workers, nurses, third shifters, and essential staff. You know, the people who make the world go round.

HHO: How did the record come about?

Mac Nova: I couldn’t have asked for more. Shout out to my engineer Wade over at Guerilla Studios

HHO: What would be your dream collaboration with any rapper or producer?

Mac Nova: My dream collaboration is a toss up between Timbaland, and Mike Dean. My sound is big and I gravitate towards their work naturally

HHO: Are you currently touring or have any upcoming shows?

Mac Nova: Not touring due to Co-VId precautions, the same with shows. Mark and the guys over at AMG have been keeping me busy with soundtrack work in between time.

HHO: How is the response from your fans & djs been?

Mac Nova: As I answer these questions I’m still a few days out from release but from the preview I dropped they are loving it so far. It always feels good to be represented in the music you hear, and thats what I’m doing with Dirty Hands.

HHO: What artists do you listen to the most?

Mac Nova: J. Cole, Brother Ali, Black Thought, Kendrick, Vince Staples and everything new and dope. I was a fan way before i was an artist so I still absorb alot of music. Even off the hip hop spectrum i lean towards rock and classical.

HHO: What are your plans for 2021? What are you doing that others are not?

Mac Nova: My goals for 2021 are to land my first placement in TV, movie, or video game. Continue to spoon feed my fans quality music devoid of gimmicks or disrespect. Lastly become a stronger overall brand so I bring others along who really care as much about the music as I do.

What I’m doing that other artists are not is quite simple. I’m a hardcore fan of my own fans. I understand and want to connect with everyday people. I’m truly happy to be here.

HHO: How can your fans reach you?
