HHO: Introduce yourself to the fans

Jdubbz: I am, Jalen (Jdubbz) Jamison. I am the founder of an independent record label based out of White Plains, New York (Inner Circle,LLC).My goal is to be a leading force in this new age that both the entertainment industry, and world are going into. I have ideas further than music, such as: my clothing line(Lowlyfe™), men’s fragrance, and even an alcoholic beverage. The music industry has changed a lot. Its a very narrow market now, and unless you have the proper connections, or an ample supply of resources to get you to those connections there’s a very slim chance of you even getting a look. Talent alone doesn’t win the competition anymore; and, that’s a fact. You have to be able to market yourself and your music as you would market any other product, and that’s what I plan to do. Giving up is not a part of my mind set.I currently have 2 digital distribution deals: one, through of Sony Music’s minor subsidiaries (Record Union), as well as another distribution deal with an independent NY based record label (Bentley Records); but, I am currently looking to work directly with a major entity

HHO: How did your artist name come about?

Jdubbz: My artist name comes from my actual name, Jalen Jamison. I used to get called J-double by my family because of the double J. When I decided to take my artistry seriously, it was only natural I called myself Jdubbz.

HHO: Where are you from?

Jdubbz: I am from White Plains, NY

HHO: Who were your musical influences growing up?

Jdubbz: I’ve been making all kind of music since I was a child because I grew up in a very musically rich environment. There are key individuals that have helped to shape my path as an artist; and, help me find a niche for my sound. Some of these individuals include; but, are not limited to: Juicy J, Young Sizzle, Future, Partynextdoor, Wiz Khalifa & Young Thug.

HHO: What hip-hop albums did you grow up listening to?

Jdubbz: I grew up listening to a plethora of music; because, my dad is a DJ. However, one of the songs that was most memorable to me was Craig Mack’s “Flava In Ya Ear”. My dad used to spin that record all of the time. I listened to a lot of my Uncle Dus’ music growing up as well.

HHO: What is the current single/project that you are promoting?

Jdubbz: I am currently doing heavy promotion for my hit single “Jim Crow” from my forthcoming album “Young, Wild & Reckless”.

HHO: How did the record come about?

Jdubbz: “Jim Crow” actually was not the song I was working on when I came up with the idea. I went to purchase the beat for my other single “Milkyway”; and, I heard the beat for what is now “Jim Crow” & the lyrics just came to me.

HHO: What would be your dream collaboration with any rapper or producer?

Jdubbz: I would love to collaborate with Juicy J.  I want him to produce the beat too! He is an artist I truly admire & respect.

HHO: Are you currently touring or have any upcoming shows?

Jdubbz: Tour was canceled due to COVID-19

HHO: How is the response from your fans & djs been?

Jdubbz: Fan Response has been satisfactory on all streaming platforms; but, I would definitely love to increase my numbers. The DJ’s whom I’ve gotten responses from let me know that I have something hot that just needs the correct promotion to pop.

HHO: What artists do you listen to the most?

Jdubbz: I listen to: Juicy J,Fredo Santana, Wiz Khalifa, Young Sizzle, Future, Young Thug, Gucci Mane, Migos,Travis Scott, The Weeknd, Jdubbz

HHO: What are your plans for 2020? What are you doing that others are not?

Jdubbz: During 2020 my goal is to get away from the publisher I am currently working with; and, to work directly with a major entity. I am focused on getting my product into the hands (and ears) of people with administrative authority at labels, publishing groups, etc.
