Aaron Hernandez agent bluntly dismissed the notion his client committed suicide, according to a tweet he sent Wednesday.

Aaron Hernandez, according to a statement from the Massachusetts Department of Correction, “hanged himself utilizing a bed sheet that he attached to his cell window.” While the statement did not list a cause of death, that line certainly indicates they feel his death was self-caused.

Murphy, who’s been clearly in support of his client through his legal disputes over the last four years, could be grief-stricken over the incident. Hernandez was not thought to be suicidal, according to Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Communications Christopher Fallon.

Murphy hadn’t tweeted since April 9, and, as of the time of publication, had not tweeted anything else.

He isn’t specifically suggesting foul play, but considering police noted in their report the door had several objects wedged in it, presumably to hinder access to the room, anything other than suicide would seem difficult to prove.
