Jul 13 2017

HHO: Introduce yourself to the fans

Lil Snate: My name is Lil Snate aka Snatie baby. I am the CEO of a young aspiring label and rap group call RDG. RDG stands for 2 things. The group stands for Really Doe Gang which is just a section of a much larger movement. RDG also stands for Real Determined Gentlemen. That is also the name of the aspiring label.

HHO: How did your artist name come about?

Lil Snate: My artist name is also my neighborhood nickname. Around my way everybody call me Lil Natie or Natie or just lil Nate. But my homies from the doe and all throughout the hood we sometimes throw a S in front of your nickname if it sounds slick. It’s just something we do around my hood. So that’s what brought about Lil Snate and Snatie.

HHO: Where are you from?

Lil Snate: I am from NW Washington DC. But I am from a neighborhood called Sursum Cordas aka Da Borda. Sursum Cordas is comprised of a couple different apartment complexes and groups. Just to name a few we have 1200 (Tyler house), sibley plaza, temple courts, turnkey, da market, really doe, and trust me ave. Etc. Like a said RDG is just part of a much larger movement.

HHO: Who were your musical influences growing up?

Lil Snate: I grew up around a lot of musicians so most of my musical influences could play an instrument but if they could play an instrument and rock the Mic at the same time that was amazing to me. My 3 favorite artist of all time is Bootsie Collins, sugar bear, and Chuck brown.

HHO: What hip-hop albums did you grow up listening to?

Lil Snate: I am from DC so I always listened to GoGo majority of the time. But as far as hip hop I listened to a lot of ludacris, lil Wayne and missy Elliot.

HHO: What is the current single/project that you are promoting?

Lil Snate: The current single that I’m pushing is a song off the project I’m dropping this summer. The song is sort of my anthem is called “Snate Baby” I just recently dropped it on WSHH and raked in a lot of views in a short time. I am also pushing 2 other single from the project called “Baby Bottles” and “Big Dawg”. The name of the project is called “Foolish”.

HHO: How did the record come about?

Lil Snate: The record I came because I felt as though I had to make a song to let people know who I was. I’m very new on the scene. But I wanted to let people kinda get a feel of who I am and also know how to say me name. A lot of people don’t know how to say it when they see it just written lol.

HHO: What would be your dream collaboration with any rapper or producer?

Lil Snate: My dream collaboration would be a beat produced by timberland and a feature by Missy Elliot and Ludacris. Man that’s a hit right there I already see it. I will pay my last dollar to make that happen.

HHO: How is the response from your fans & djs been?

Lil Snate: As of now to be honest it’s been very hard to get people to actually just listen being as though it’s so many people in my city trying to do hip hop. But when they do hear my music I get a great response and people want to hear more. As for DJs I’m getting a mixed response mostly good though. I was told I have a new sound and I have potential to be great by a lot of people DJs and fans alike. I really don’t get to many bad responses except for the internet haters of course.

HHO: What artists do you listen to the most?

Lil Snate: As of now the artist I listen to the most I would say would have to be post Malone and future. I still bump my GoGo and old bangas I liked from back in the day but as of now them 2 artist.

HHO: What are your plans for 2017? What are you doing that others are not?

Lil Snate: My plans for 2017 is to just establish me and my gang as up and coming artist out the DMV. I want to put us on the radar and bring our sound to the game from our perspective. We are unique not only in our sound but also in the way we construct our songs. We consists our about 6 artist. Of course me, White josh, Fatz, Peso, Cinco, Twizzy, and Lil Bro.
