Finally some good news for Lil Wayne fans who are holding their breathe for the release of Waynes “Carter V” album. We just got word that Lil Wayne has won a settlement over Birdman and Cash Money. Reportedly Wayne was granted his release from Cash Money and now able to record under the Universal Music Group umbrella. We also hear that Universal cut Wayne a check for $10 Million dollars for Birdman.

The Blast reports that documents it has obtained reveal that Wayne’s attorney, Howard King, declared on May 23 that all sides are prepared to dismiss the lawsuit that has kept the New Orleans rap great gridlocked in a bitter feud with Birdman.

Wayne had stop recording after he claimed that he was owed a $8 Million dollar advance and $2 Million dollars for his work and completion of his “Tha Carter V” album.

Thanks to the music giant stepping up to satisfy each party’s demands with a check that is said to amount to “well over $10 million,” Universal now assumes rights to release the storied album.

No Word on when Wayne will release the album or be back in the studio to finish it up, but for now this is amazing news for Hip Hop!
